On June 5, 2025, Chinese Acting Consul General in Karachi Zhang Hao attended and delivered a speech on the opening ceremony of the Karachi regional final of the 24th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students. Both Chinese and Pakistani directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Karachi attended the event.

Acting CG Zhang Hao congratulated on the successful holding of the finals, highly commended the Confucius Institute at the University of Karachi for their active efforts on promoting China-Pakistan cultural exchanges, and encouraged the contestants to achieve proficiency in Chinese and actively participate in the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, so as to pass on the "ironclad" friendship between China and Pakistan from generation to generation.

Representatives from Chinese and Pakistani universities expressed their gratitude to both governments for their support and assurance in the development of the Confucius Institute at the University of Karachi, and vowed their commitment to cultivating more outstanding talents proficient in both Chinese and Pakistani cultures, to contribute to the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
