On March 25, 2026, Consul General Yang Yundong met with Balakhsher Qazi, the Mayor of Turbat in Balochistan.

Consul General Yang spoke highly of the friendship between China and Pakistan, emphasizing that Balochistan Province plays an important role in advancing bilateral relations and the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other fields. He added that there is great potential for both sides to deepen practical cooperation. He expressed the hope that Turbat City would actively explore opportunities from this cooperation, effectively promote its own development and construction, and bring greater benefits to the local people.

Mr. Qazi introduced the development situation of Turbat City, expressed gratitude for China’s long-standing and valuable support for the development of Balochistan Province, and stated that as the second-largest city in Balochistan, Turbat City looks forward to further deepening exchanges and cooperation with China. He added that they will actively participate in the construction of the CPEC and promote socio-economic development across various sectors in the local area.
