On March 26, 2026, Consul General Yang Yundong called on Nehal Hashmi, the newly appointed Governor of Sindh.

CG Yang congratulated Mr. Hashmi on his new appointment as Governor of Sindh, briefed on the outcomes of China's "Two Sessions" and the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), and stated that China and Pakistan are close neighbors sharing mountains and rivers. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership has been continuously deepened. The construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has yielded fruitful results, delivering tangible benefits to the people of both countries. He expressed that China is ready to work with Sindh Province to deepen practical cooperation in areas such as industry, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges, jointly promote the development of CPEC 2.0, and contribute to the construction of the China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
Mr. Hashmi fondly recalled his experiences visiting China and spoke highly of the profound friendship between China and Pakistan as well as China's remarkable achievements in modernization. He stated that Sindh Province attaches great importance to exchanges with China, actively participates in the construction of the CPEC, and is committed to advancing cooperation with China across various fields. He assured that Sindh Province will make every effort to ensure the security and safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions, and create a favorable environment for bilateral cooperation.
