Chinese Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong Meets with Pakistan's Federal Minister for Interior

On April 14, 2026, Consul General Yang Yundong met with Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Interior.

Consul General Yang appreciated the efforts made by the Pakistani government in recent times to enhance security for Chinese nationals. He noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. With the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) entering a new stage of high-quality development, cooperation and exchanges in the economic, trade, people-to-people and cultural fields between the two countries are embracing new opportunities.

The Chinese side is ready to work with the Pakistani side to further deepen bilateral practical cooperation, enhance mutual understanding and affinity between the two peoples, and jointly build a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era. CG Yang expressed the hope that the Pakistani side continue to strengthen security measures for Chinese projects, institutions, and personnel, thereby providing a solid security shield for bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

Mr. Naqvi stated that Pakistan has always attached great importance to deepening the ironclad friendship between Pakistan and China. He warmly welcomed Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Pakistan and to strengthen people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The Pakistan's Ministry of Interior and relevant law enforcement agencies will strive to optimize security measures and make every effort to ensure the safety of Chinese institutions and nationals in Pakistan, so as to create a secure and reliable environment for their development in the country.
