Good afternoon!

It is a great pleasure to join today's seminar. On behalf of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Karachi, I would like to express our warm welcome to all the guests and heartfelt appreciation to friends from all walks of life who have cared about China's development and supported China-Pakistan friendship.

This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. The convergence of these two important historic milestones provides us with a valuable opportunity to review history and look to the future. It also gives today's seminar special significance.

One hundred and five years ago, the Communist Party of China was founded at a historic moment, bearing the mission of achieving national independence, people’s liberation, national prosperity and strength, and the well-being of the Chinese people. From the Red Boat on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing to the great ship steering Chinese modernization, the CPC has united and led the Chinese people in securing great achievements in the New Democratic Revolution, Socialist Revolution and Development, Reform and Opening up and Socialist Modernization, and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The Party has successfully pioneered, upheld and developed a path of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. Within just a few decades, China completed the industrialization process that had taken developed countries several centuries to accomplish. It has created the two miracles of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability, and has fundamentally transformed the future and destiny of the Chinese people and profoundly influenced the course of world history.

Seventy-five years ago, China and Pakistan officially established diplomatic relations. Over the past 75 years, regardless of changes in the international landscape or the regional situation, the two countries have always treated each other with mutual understanding, mutual trust and mutual support and have continued to achieve new progress, forging an unbreakable all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. China and Pakistan have set a fine example of friendship and win-win cooperation between countries with different social systems, historical backgrounds and development stages. 

Looking back on history, we cannot help but ask: how can the Communist Party of China grow into the world's largest governing party with profound global influence, continue to enjoy the wholehearted support of the Chinese people, and lead China to create one development miracle after another? how can the China-Pakistan friendship endure the test of time and distance to become a model of state-to-state relations? In my view, answers to both questions lie in the logic of history itself. 

Over the past 105 years, the Communist Party of China has remained steadfast in its commitment to seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation. By gaining deep insight into the prevailing trends of the world and accurately identifying the principal contradiction facing Chinese society at different stages of its development, the Party has united and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in unremitting struggle, forging the most magnificent epic in the long history of the Chinese nation. Today, China is the world's second-largest economy, the largest manufacturing country, and the largest trader in goods. Its GDP has grown from 67.9 billion yuan in 1952 to 140.2 trillion yuan in 2025, with its overall national strength and international influence rising significantly. China has won the largest battle against poverty in human history and established the world’s largest systems of education, social security, and healthcare.

How can the Communist Party of China, a century-old Party, remain vigorous and dynamic? General Secretary Xi Jinping has drawn wisdom from the Party's history and its great achievements in practice to profoundly explain the distinctive qualities and key to the Party's success.

First, it remains steadfast in the pursuit of truth and always keeps to the right direction. Second, it stays deeply rooted in the people and continuously consolidates its broad popular foundation. Third, it shoulders its historic mission and always takes the strategic initiative. Fourth, it follows the trend of the times and consciously stays at the forefront of the age. Fifth, it has the courage as well as the ability to carry out great struggles, always maintaining the confidence to prevail over risks and challenges. Sixth, it constantly strengthens and improves itself, thereby remaining full of vitality and vigor.

These outstanding qualities embody the Party's advanced nature and purity. They are also the keys to its continued success in advancing from one victory to another. They have not only enabled the Party to lead China to historic achievements but also provided valuable reference for political parties and countries around the world in exploring development paths suited to their own national conditions. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has put forward a series of new ideas, new thinking and new strategies for strengthening Party leadership and Party building, forming Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building. This important thought has provided valuable public intellectual goods for political parties around the world, especially those in the Global South, in improving governance capacity and advancing national development.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Friends,

China and Pakistan are true friends that share weal and woe, good partners that stand together through thick and thin, and all-weather strategic cooperative partners. The enduring strength of China-Pakistan friendship is no coincidence. It is a choice made by history and by our peoples. More importantly, it is the inevitable result of following the law of historical development and keeping pace with the trend of the times. Over the past 75 years, China and Pakistan have remained firmly committed to supporting each other in safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, and have always viewed and advanced bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. This strategic cooperation, built upon mutual trust, has become not only the defining political feature of China-Pakistan relations, but also the fundamental guarantee for the sustained growth of our bilateral ties. The 75-year history of China-Pakistan relations has demonstrated a profound truth: lasting friendship is rooted in shared ideals, grows through mutual respect, is strengthened by standing together through thick and thin, and reaches new heights through mutually beneficial cooperation and win-win outcomes.

Over the past 75 years, China-Pakistan political mutual trust has continued to deepen, while exchanges and cooperation have expanded from the political sphere to multiple areas such as the economy, science and technology, culture, education and sub-national cooperation, forming a comprehensive, multi-tiered and broad-based framework of cooperation. In particular, since the inauguration of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as its flagship project, has injected new vitality and new substance into practical cooperation between our two countries. Together, the two sides have implemented a large number of major cooperation projects that have delivered tangible benefits to the Pakistani people. These projects have played an important role in improving Pakistan's infrastructure, easing energy shortages, enhancing connectivity, and promoting economic and social development. They have also made CPEC one of the most vivid demonstrations of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. Today, CPEC has entered its Version 2.0, with the focus of cooperation expanding from major infrastructure projects to broader areas including industry, agriculture,mining, science and technology, the digital economy, green development and talent cultivation. This new stage of cooperation will undoubtedly make even greater contributions to improving the well-being of our two peoples.

Amid an international landscape marked by transformation and turbulence, China and Pakistan have remained firmly committed to practicing true multilateralism. The two sides have strengthened communication and coordination within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, jointly upheld the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order underpinned by international law, remained committed to resolving regional disputes through political and diplomatic means, and made important contributions to regional peace and stability as well as global development.

Today, China is advancing Chinese modernization on all fronts through high-quality development. Chinese modernization pursues not only China's own development and prosperity, but also seeks to share the opportunities with the rest of the world, enabling all countries to benefit from China Opportunity 2.0 and achieve common prosperity. From artificial intelligence to the digital economy, from green and low-carbon development to advanced manufacturing, China is accelerating the development of new quality productive forces, pursuing innovation-driven development, and sharing the fruits of innovation through greater openness and cooperation, thereby injecting new impetus into global economic growth. With its enormous market and complete industrial system, China continues to provide the world with greater market dividends. At the same time, through scientific and technological advancement and industrial upgrading, China is also creating increasing innovation dividends for the world. The interaction of these opportunities will bring the international community broader development prospects and greater room for growth.

As all-weather strategic cooperative partners, China always welcomes Pakistan to board the express train of China's high-quality development. China stands ready to share with Pakistan the opportunities arising from China's economic growth and scientific and technological innovation, so as to achieve common development and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.

History is never merely the accumulation of time. Rather, it is an inexhaustible source of wisdom that enlightens the future. Although the 105-year journey of the Communist Party of China and the 75-year journey of China-Pakistan friendship have followed different paths, they both demonstrate a profound truth: by staying committed to the right direction, we will win the future; by putting the people first, we will achieve development; by pursuing mutually beneficial cooperation and win-win outcomes, we will gain more friends and partners.

Standing at a new historical starting point, let us draw lessons from history to better understand the present, earnestly implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of our two countries, promote greater synergy between China's 15th Five-Year Plan and Pakistan's Uraan Pakistan initiative, advance CPEC Version 2.0, accelerate the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, and continue to write a new chapter in the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between China and Pakistan.
