Good evening! Today, we gather together with joy to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. On behalf of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Karachi, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all distinguished guests, and express my heartfelt gratitude to friends from all walks of life who care about China's development and support China-Pakistan friendly cooperation! I also extend my warmest festive greetings to all Chinese compatriots living and working in the consular district!

Over the past 77 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the Communist Party of China has united and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in relentless struggle. We have successfully blazed and upheld the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, created the two miracles of rapid economic growth and long-term social stability, brought about earth-shaking changes to the nation, and pushed the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation into an irreversible historical process. China has achieved a historic leap from a poor and underdeveloped country in need of reconstruction on all fronts to the world's second largest economy, and has remained the world's largest manufacturer and largest trader in goods for many consecutive years. China has brought about a historic resolution to the problem of absolute poverty, and built the world's largest education, social security, and healthcare systems, delivering the benefits of development more fully and equitably to all the people. China has continuously made new achievements in advancing ecological conservation, and the grand picture of Beautiful China is gradually unfolding.

The year 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan. Amid the changing and volatile international situation, China has taken solid steps to pursue high-quality development, further deepened reform and opening up across the board, advanced common prosperity for all the people, and written a new chapter of Chinese modernization.

China's economy is advancing toward innovation-driven growth and higher-quality development. In the first half of this year, China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.7 percent year on year, continuing to rank among the front-runners in major economies. China's economy is gaining momentum from new growth drivers and moving toward a higher-quality structure. New quality productive forces are gathering strength and gaining momentum, artificial intelligence is flourishing, green energy transition is accelerating, and people's well-being continues to improve. China is expanding high-standard opening up and has become a major trading partner of more than 160 countries and regions worldwide. High-quality Belt and Road cooperation has benefited over three-quarters of the countries across the globe.

China has achieved fruitful results in scientific and technological innovation. China has significantly enhanced its capacity for sci-tech innovation, holding a world-leading position in many fields including artificial intelligence, quantum technology, manned spaceflight, and new energy. China has 25 of the world's top 100 innovation clusters, ranking first among all countries for the fourth consecutive year. From making new breakthroughs in key and core technologies such as integrated circuits to standing at the forefront of global R&D for innovative drugs, and from the successful recovery of rockets both on land and at sea to humanoid robots breaking the 100-meter sprint record, China's innovation dynamism continues to surge.

China's diplomacy has taken proactive steps to shoulder its responsibilities. China remains unswervingly committed to serving as a force for peace, a force for stability, and a force for progress in a turbulent world. China advocates a vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, and promotes the political settlement of hotspot issues. President Xi Jinping recently put forward a four-point proposal on promoting common security in the Middle East, once again contributing China's solutions to achieving lasting peace and stability in the region. China continuously delivers on the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative, pushing forward the building of a community with a shared future for humanity. China has been providing a growing number of public goods to tackle global challenges. Over the past year since its inception, the Global Governance Initiative has garnered support and response from nearly 160 countries and international organizations. The International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) has officially commenced operations and successfully resolved its first international maritime dispute, while the World Data Organization (WDO) and the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) have been successively established in China. 

Ladies and gentlemen, friends,

China and Pakistan are good neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, good friends bonded by trust, good partners in mutual assistance, and good brothers sharing weal and woe. Over the past 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, our two countries have understood, trusted, and supported each other, forging an unbreakable traditional friendship. Our two sides have long maintained high-level political mutual trust, high-level practical cooperation, high-level security cooperation, and high-level international coordination, firmly supporting each other on issues concerning our respective core interests and major concerns, setting a fine example of state-to-state relations. We are pleased to see that the Pakistani people have kept making new achievements in your national development. Pakistan's macroeconomic situation has stabilized and turned for the better, with the quality and efficiency of economic development improved. Pakistan is playing a unique mediating role in regional conflicts. We congratulate our Pakistani friends on your achievements at home and abroad.

Since the beginning of this year, China and Pakistan have witnessed frequent high-level exchanges, with political mutual trust steadily consolidated. President Xi Jinping and President Asif Ali Zardari exchanged congratulatory messages on the anniversary of diplomatic relations. President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid successful visits to China successively, during which the leaders of our two countries reached new and important common understandings, providing fundamental guidance and a roadmap for advancing China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperation. Practical cooperation between our two countries has gone deeper and yielded more tangible outcomes, and the high-quality upgrading of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is being promoted. Focusing on the three key areas of agriculture, industry, and mining, our two sides are accelerating the building of an "upgraded CPEC 2.0", ushering in a new landscape for coordinated development of cooperation across all sectors. We have made coordinated efforts to advance both landmark signature projects and "small and beautiful" livelihood projects, successively implementing assistance programs such as donating epidemic prevention materials and solar street lights, which effectively enhanced local people's sense of gain. People-to-people and cultural exchanges between our two sides have remained vibrant, and our ironclad friendship has taken deep root in the hearts of our peoples. Centering on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Pakistan have jointly hosted a rich variety of celebration events. Landmark buildings in Karachi were lit up in vibrant "China Red". A host of receptions and seminars sparked a "China fever". Pakistani delegations from media, think tanks, agriculture and other sectors paid intensive visits to China, further solidifying the public support for China-Pakistan friendship.

The traditional friendship between China and Pakistan was forged by the older-generation leaders of the two countries, and is a precious legacy and a strategic asset for our two countries and peoples. At present, as major changes unseen in a century accelerate across the world, the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership carries even greater strategic and contemporary value. No matter how the international situation changes, China always prioritizes developing relations with Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy.

We stand ready to work hand in hand with the Pakistani side to earnestly implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of our two countries, accelerate the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, and respond to the uncertainties in the international landscape with the certainty of China-Pakistan relations.

We need to be a model for good-neighborliness and friendship, always standing together through thick and thin, and setting an example for building a neighborhood community with a shared future.

We need to be promoters of win-win cooperation, accelerating the building of an "upgraded CPEC 2.0", tapping the potential of cooperation in fields such as industry, agriculture, mining, and information technology, so as to better unleash Pakistan's development potential and bring more benefits to our two peoples.

We need to be advocates of mutual learning among civilizations, deepening and expanding exchanges in education, culture, science and technology, youth, and other fields, continuously enhancing mutual understanding and trust, and passing the torch of China-Pakistan friendship from generation to generation.

We need to be practitioners of multilateralism, maintaining strategic communication and coordination on international and regional issues, firmly upholding the international system with the United Nations at its core, the international order underpinned by international law, and the basic norms governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and pushing for a more just and equitable global governance system.

Ancient Chinese teachings tell us that "men of insight see the trend, while men of wisdom ride it". Though the world today faces complex challenges, the trend of the times toward peace, development, cooperation, and win-win outcomes is unstoppable, and the trend toward world multipolarity and economic globalization is irreversible. Let us stand firmly on the right side of history, build on past achievements and forge ahead, continuously deepen friendly cooperation, join hands to build a better future together, and push the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership to new heights!
